Melinda Rivera
Melinda was raised in San Antonio, Texas, where she earned an AA in Computer Science while working for QVC.
In 2000 she joined the US Navy as an Engineer working on ship engines, boilers and turbines in Norfolk, VA. Melinda was a part of many tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and received multiple commendation and achievement medals.
After her first enlistment (2004), Melinda relocated to Jacksonville, FL and went back to school to study in the medical field. In 2005 she worked for Nemours Children's Hospital Orthopedic Department and transferred to Baptist Medical Hospital where she worked in the Rhuematology and Human Resources Department until 2009. Also during this time she worked in the Navy Reserves as an Intelligence Specialist working for NCIS at Naval Air Station Jacksonville.
In 2012, due to medical reasons, Melinda retired from the Navy and made Palm Coast her home. She became a reading mentor and teachers assistant for the Flagler County School District so that she could spend as much as possible with her young son, Elijah.
From helping schools to helping businesses, in 2018 Melinda joined the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce as a receptionist. During this time, her roles quickly evolved into becoming an events coordinator and operations/programs manager.
Melinda has successfully executed a variety of events in Flagler County that ranged from 10 to 10,000 attendees! She has worked closely with community leaders and serves as a member of the Flagler County Young Professionals Group and the Flagler County Emergency Response Team.
Today, Melinda is excited to combine her love for Flagler County and organizational skills by serving as the office manager for Palm Coast and the Beaches Real Estate.
When she is not hard at work or giving back to her community, Melinda LOVES to spend time in the kitchen baking, reading a good book or spending time with her son.
